Here is footage of Jodie Foster speaking at U Penn’s 250th Commencement. In an attempt to appeal to the young crowd she quotes Eminem, as opposed to the usual dead white guy… After watching the video, I’m pretty sure you’d opt for the dead white guy quotes. [youtube via justjared]

  1. It’s the message, not the performance, stupid! J. Foster will never be a rapper, nor has she ever tried to be one. Perfect ending for a commencement speech.
Better stick to your usual blabber about the latest celebrity gossip (you know; fat/anorexic actresses, who’s dating who etc.)

  2. I’m glad to know that jodie foster reads the hot tub.

  3. Hey! Hot tub, what ever happened to the peace and love, man?

  4. the brutal reality

Wow, what a cringe moment for Foster. Even sadder that she has no idea how rough it all sounded. Choose-your-own-adventure/comment:

Do you choose ending Option 1 or 2.

Option 1 (less blunt): Seems like this woman’s only skill set involves pretending to me raped on a pinball machine and most certainly not thinking/communicating.

Option 2 (more blunt): Wow, watching that was more painful than really being on the receiving end of the pinball workout.

  5. John Hinckley Jr must be shaking his head like:
    “I shot Reagon for that?!”
